William graduated with a Diploma in Farm Management from Lincoln University. He has had a 10-year professional career spanning agricultural consultancy, integrated land management, systems development and commercial business management, working in New Zealand, England and Australia.

William returned home to manage the family farm for six years, before starting their own sheep and beef farming business, Beetham Pastural. He is currently farming in the stunning Wainuioru Valley, 15 minutes east of Masterton - producing high quality, healthy, nutritious food that is carbon neutral, amongst thriving biodiversity and beautiful streams.

His governance roles include Director Silver Fern Farms Co-operative, Director Food and Fibre Center of Vocational Excellence, Trustee Wairarapa Pukaha to Kawawa, and Member of OSPRI Stakeholders Council.
