Meat the Need is a charity that provides Kiwi's in need with access to quality red meat. They collaborate with New Zealand farmers who generously donate their livestock. Our support is part of a long-term commitment to positive change in our communities.​

Where does your donation go?

$1 from every pack of PURE Burgers purchased goes to Meat the Need Charity. The money that is donated provides a link between farmers and Kiwi’s in need, covering the processing, packaging and delivery to organisations such as City Missions and food banks. Providing red meat nutrition to those who need it most.

Our duty of care

Silver Fern Farms' partnership with Meat the Need began during the lockdown of 2020 – a pivotal moment in the lives of many. We wanted to provide nutritious meals to Kiwi families in need. It turned out to be just the beginning of a long-term commitment to Meat the Need and the communities we serve. Our team of 16,000 farmers are proud to make a difference, building on their care for animals and the environment, into support for those who often go without the basics.​
