Venison Short Rib Lettuce Burgers with Pickled Red Onion
Ingredients
- 1 pack Silver Fern Farms PURE 97% Venison & Beef Burgers with Venison Short Rib
- 6 lettuce cups, large
- 12 rashers streaky bacon
PICKLED RED ONION
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp caster sugar
TO SERVE
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Aioli

Venison Short Rib Lettuce Burgers with Pickled Red Onion
Method
Remove Silver Fern Farms PURE 97% Venison & Beef Burgers with Venison Short Rib from the freezer and packaging. Preheat BBQ or pan to high heat.
Combine the onion, lemon juice and caster sugar in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper, toss to combine and set aside. Drain excess liquid before serving.
Cook bacon for 2-3 mins until crispy. Set aside.
Reduce BBQ or pan to low-medium heat. Add PURE 97% Venison & Beef Burgers with Venison Short Rib and cook for 8 mins (5 mins if defrosted). Flip and pierce PURE 97% Venison & Beef Burgers with Venison Short Rib to allow juices to run free. Cook for a further 4-6 mins (3-5 mins if defrosted).
To serve, place bacon and a PURE 97% Venison & Beef Burger with Venison Short Rib into each lettuce cup. Add avocado slices and aioli. Top with pickled red onion.
