Silver Fern Farms Market Report 30 September 2022

Our Supplier Roadshows for 2022 are underway, beginning last week in Hawke’s Bay. Due to Covid settings we were stuck at home last year, presenting virtually instead, so I’m very happy to be getting around the regions in person once more, and hearing directly from you all.

Also due to Covid restrictions we missed the opportunity to celebrate our Plate to Pasture winners earlier in 2022, so these dinners are framed as a chance to celebrate all of our suppliers – acknowledging the conclusion of a challenging season, and getting ready for the next one.

So far we’ve held gala dinners in Takapau and Christchurch, and you can still register to join us over the next six weeks in KarapiroGoreNew Plymouth and Whangarei.

You’ll hear from Silver Fern Farms’ leaders covering market activity, plans for investment, company performance and outlook, and our new Nature Positive livestock programmes. The team is also holding some daytime woolshed meetings – talk to your local Livestock Rep for more information.

In this week’s update we announce our South Island Rep of the Year, a new campaign to support Meat the Need, a reminder on Vet Certs, and the latest from the markets.
