Ingredients
  • 1 pack Silver Fern Farms Venison Steak
  • 2 Tbsp oil

Chilli Plum Sauce:

  • 1 tsp green ginger, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp chilli sauce
  • 100ml Kikkoman light soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp sherry (optional)
  • 100ml plum sauce

Method

Remove Silver Fern Farms Venison Steaks from the fridge and packaging and allow to bloom at room temperature for 10 mins.

Preheat BBQ to a med-high heat. Drizzle venison with oil and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3 mins each side until med-rare. Remove from the heat, cover with tin foil, and rest for 5 mins.

While the venison is resting, combine all the chilli plum sauce ingredients together and simmer in the same pan until thick & saucy. Drizzle over the venison. Serve with seasonal potatoes and a fresh green salad.
