As a responsible food producer, we show respect for our animals at every step. Silver Fern Farms has systems and policies in place to ensure the welfare of our animals throughout our chain of care.

Animals are transferred to processing facilities using approved transporters to ensure all livestock are transported in a safe and efficient manner, with an emphasis on the welfare of the animals.

At all 14 Silver Fern Farms processing sites, our production processes are audited to ensure we meet the standards set by the New Zealand Government and overseas markets.

The Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) certifies our products against these requirements. We also adhere to global customer requirements as required.

Our food manufacturing teams ensure that all ingredients are handled and packed with the utmost care, preserving the quality and integrity of the products. They adhere to strict hygiene standards, and sophisticated processing techniques are instrumental in maintaining the products' high standard.

Our global supply chains work hard to preserve the freshness of the ingredients from the time they leave our processing sites until they arrive at their destination.
